HOUSTON (TNND) \u2014 Police in Texas said they are searching for a man accused of killing a 23-year-old woman who was pregnant with his unborn baby. <\/p>\n

The Houston Police Department <\/a>said Kevin Faux was charged with murder after the woman’s body was found at a home on Thursday around 9 a.m. Her cause of death is awaiting the results of an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.<\/p>\n

Faux, who is not in custody, is the father of the woman’s unborn child, investigators said.<\/p>\n

The woman\u2019s identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members, according to authorities. <\/p>\n

KHOU<\/a> said loved ones identified her as Ashanti Allen. The media outlet said she was eight months pregnant. <\/p>\n

“Being pregnant at 8 months with my first grandson, I can’t even tell you how I feel,” Allen’s father, Edward Allen, told KHOU<\/a>. “My body is numb. I don’t think I can process the fact that my daughter is gone.”<\/p>\n

Police said the investigation began as a missing person case before they found the woman’s body. Detectives later identified Faux as a suspect and filed a murder charge against him.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the killing.<\/p>\n

Police asked anyone who has information about Faux or his whereabouts to contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. <\/p>\n
