On Friday the UMC Health System along with the Texas Tech University Health System celebrated the announcement and soon to be open cancer center known as the\u00a0UMC TLC2\u00a0Foundation Cancer Center.<\/p>\n
The new cancer center will on Monday, April 20 and will mark a new era in cancer care for patients and the region.<\/p>\n
According to a press release, this new cancer center is big and has a lot space.<\/p>\n
Spanning more than 120,000 square feet, nearly three Smes the size of the previous facility, the new<\/p>\n
cancer center significantly expands access to vital care for paSents across West Texas and Eastern New<\/p>\n
Mexico. Developed through a partnership between UMC and TTUHSC, this comprehensive academic<\/p>\n
cancer center serves as a desSnaSon for advanced, paSent-centered cancer care closer to home.<\/p>\n
\u201cCancer is tenacious, yet our purpose is resolute. Our health care team determined our vision years ago<\/p>\n
\u2013 to eliminate su\ufb00ering from cancer,<\/p>\n
\u201d Mark Funderburk, president and chief execuSve o\ufb03cer of UMC<\/p>\n
Health System, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cToward that end, this beauSful new center o\ufb00ers more space, resources and help<\/p>\n
to those who are on their cancer journey. State-of-the-art treatment, research and integraSve medicine<\/p>\n
are all housed within a one-stop facility. In partnership with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center,<\/p>\n
we are bringing comprehensive cancer care closer to home.\u201d<\/p>\n
The facility features expanded clinic space with dozens of exam rooms, more than 50 infusion chairs and<\/p>\n
dedicated treatment areas for both adult and pediatric paSents, enhancing capacity, reducing wait Smes<\/p>\n
and increasing appointment availability. In addiSon to advanced treatment services, the center o\ufb00ers<\/p>\n
integraSve medicine and wellness programs, paSent and family support services and expanded research<\/p>\n
and clinical trials. UMC and TTUHSC faculty specialists work collaboraSvely to deliver innovaSve,<\/p>\n
personalized care while advancing the future of cancer treatment in the region.<\/p>\n
