The local bookstore is searching for a new location, but until it finds a replacement for its original Bishop Arts location, it said it will be consolidating the shop with its larger Deep Ellum location.<\/p>\n
“We are a small, indie bookstore,” the shop wrote. “Together, our community has always championed free speech, equality, diverse voices, and the freedom to be yourself. We’ve spoken out together about inequality and injustice. That’s who we are and who we will always be.”<\/p>\n
Poets Books describes itself as a “progressive, poetry-driven bookstore in the land of book bans.” They first opened six years ago, and in early 2025, expanded, opening an even larger store in Deep Ellum, 2649 Main St., Suite 160.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Since its opening, Poets Book has won Best Bookstore from the Dallas Observer in 2025 and Best Shop in 2026 from Dallas Voice.<\/p>\n
The last day of business at the Bishop Arts location will be Sunday, April 26. Before that, the store will have one last Oak Cliff Book Crawl on April 25.<\/p>\n
