CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A cold front is set to move through South Texas this weekend, knocking temperatures down 10-20 degrees between Saturday’s high and Sunday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SATURDAY: Conditions will start off nice with a lighter breeze sustained out of the southeast, mostly 5-15 mph with some gusts 20-25 along the coast. Overall, much lighter than we have been all week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Be ready for mostly cloudy skies, but the cloud coverage will vary layer by layer in the atmosphere, which is an important part of the forecast for the air show this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WINGS OVER SOUTH TEXAS: The air show is back in Kingsville on Saturday and Sunday. The show starts at 11 A.M. with the Blue Angels performing at 3 P.M. Heading into the afternoon we should see a broken layer of clouds at the low and mid levels of the atmosphere. Cirrus clouds are expected to coat the higher levels of the sky. A low or high show is likely on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TEXAS SANDFEST: Lighter wind and mostly cloudy skies will make it an enjoyable day at the beach. Waves will still be rough at 3-5 ft every 6 sec. Minor Coastal Flooding is possible. High tide is at 6:12 AM.\u00a0<\/p>\n

COLD FRONT: A few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected as the cold front moves through the Coastal Bend between 3 P.M. and 11 P.M. on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Temperatures will fall from the 80s into the 60s pretty quickly once the front passes. If you are out for dinner, you may want to bring a jacket for when you leave. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Wind gusts will pick up as the front passes south. Be ready for 30-40 mph wind gusts overnight and into Sunday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SUNDAY: Have the rain gear handy with on-and-off rain in the forecast. The morning will feature slightly stronger winds with gusts around 30-40 mph out of the northeast. Wind will become lighter in the afternoon. Temperatures will likely stay in the 60s all day. It will be much cooler with more clouds on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WINGS OVER SOUTH TEXAS:\u00a0Overcast skies are expected in the low layers of the atmosphere. A flat or low show is likely on Sunday. Wind will be lighter inland, around 10-20 mph with gusts of 25-30 mph. Most of the rain will likely come before noon on Saturday, but off-and-on showers are possible all day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

TEXAS SANDFEST: 40 mph wind gusts, minor coastal flooding, and scattered showers are expected, especially in the morning. Most of the rain will likely come before noon, but off-and-on showers are possible all day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

RAIN CONTINUES:\u00a0Off-and-on rain is likely through Tuesday morning. The cold front starts the unsettled pattern on Saturday, but the upper-level energy is why we will continue to see off-and-on rain showers. The exact timing of the rain is difficult to predict because it depends on waves of energy moving through the upper levels of the atmosphere. Right now, the morning hours look to see the most energy, but that timing can change.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The rainfall range varies between 0.2 and 4 inches. Likely rainfall totals are around 1 inch, but may vary based on where heavier rain sets up across the Coastal Bend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
