POLICE SAY THAT A DRIVER HIT A BIKE RIDER AND UNFORTUNATELY, POLICE SAY THAT THE BIKE RIDER DID NOT SURVIVE. NOW I AM GOING TO SHIFT YOUR ATTENTION. BEHIND ME THERE IS STILL A HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE OUT HERE. YOU CAN SEE POLICE TAPE IS UP AND WE\u2019RE GOING TO SLOWLY ZOOM IN ON THE RIGHT TO THE CAR THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THIS CRASH. YOU CAN SEE AS WE SLOWLY ZOOM INTO THAT, THE WINDSHIELD IS SHATTERED AND THE WINDOW DOWN ALSO POSSIBLY SHATTERED. WE\u2019RE GOING TO ZOOM OUT AND MOVE TO THE LEFT WHERE YOU CAN SEE REMNANTS ON THE ROADWAY. SCATTERED PIECES OF THE BICYCLE, AND YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE BICYCLE HAD CRASHED DOWN THERE ON THE GROUND. AND THERE ARE POLICE NEAR THERE LOOKING AT ALL THOSE PIECES CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE SITUATION, THEY\u2019VE BEEN OUT HERE INTERVIEWING WITNESSES. POLICE DO TELL US THAT ALCOHOL WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE CRASH. AND AS OF RIGHT NOW, WE DON\u2019T KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE PERSON KILLED. NOW, WHILE WE WERE DRIVING HERE, WE NOTICED THAT EL PASO ROAD APPEARS TO BE CLOSED FROM I-5 TO EAST COMMERCE. IT\u2019S IMPACTING TRAFFIC. \n\t\t\t\t\t\tA man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bike in Natomas Friday night, according to police. The Sacramento Police Department said the crash happened in the 2900 block of Del Paso Road just before 8 p.m. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area. Traffic is impacted on Del Paso Road from Interstate 5 to East Commerce Way. Police told KCRA 3 that neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor in the crash.
