A Texas mother of three has been accused of running a prostitution ring with her husband in collaboration with local police.<\/p>\n
Ashley Ketcherside is now facing charges of racketeering after she was taken into custody April 14, according to jail records reviewed by Oxygen.com. Her husband Michael Ketcherside\u2014who was arrested April 2\u2014is facing charges of continuous promotion of prostitution and racketeering.<\/p>\n
Ashley has publicly denied any involvement in prostitution.<\/p>\n
For More True Crime: Ashley Ketcherside and Michael Ketcherside Accused of \u201cOngoing Prostitution Conspiracy\u201d<\/p>\n Prior to Ashley\u2019s arrest, the Johnson and Somervell Counties District Attorney\u2019s Office announced <\/a>that it had launched an investigation with Texas Department of Public Safety into the couple and the Godley Police Department\u2019s alleged \u201congoing criminal activity.\u201d<\/p>\n Investigators served a search warrant at the couple\u2019s home on March 31 and obtained electronic communication and storage devices that they believe were tied to the criminal activity.<\/p>\n \u201cThese devices contained evidence of an ongoing prostitution conspiracy involving Ashley and Michael Ketcherside, and numerous clients over the years,\u201d prosecutors said. \u201cAdditional evidence shows the Ketchersides collaborating with then-sworn Chief of Police of The City of Godley and other officers.\u201d<\/p>\n Prosecutors said the police department, under the leadership of former police chief Matthew Cantrell, is also accused of conspiring with the Ketchersides to \u201ccompile information on local public officials and private citizens they perceived as adversaries.\u201d<\/p>\n According to prosecutors, that included members of the Godley City Council, Godley Independent School Board, the former mayor of Godley and the former Chief of Police.<\/p>\n Current Godley Police Chief Darrell \u201cDusty\u201d Vinson told Oxygen.com the police department is working with authorities as the investigation unfolds.<\/p>\n \u201cThe city welcomes and applauds the Johnson County District Attorney\u2019s Office for their work in investigating and addressing the alleged criminal activity,\u201d he said, \u201cand we are fully cooperating in this ongoing investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n RELATED: \u201cBaby Jessica\u201d McClure Arrested in Alleged Domestic Violence Incident 39 Years After Well Rescue<\/a><\/p>\n Johnson and Somervell Counties District Attorney\u2019s Office spokesperson Jason Buchanan told Oxygen.com that Cantrell was arrested on charges of promoting prostitution, while former officer Solomon Omotoya was booked on charges of soliciting prostitution. It’s unclear whether either has retained an attorney.<\/p>\n The Ketchersides allegedly ran the prostitution scheme out of their home, according to court documents obtained by Fox 4 News <\/a>.<\/p>\n Ashley Ketcherside Denied Involvement in Prostitution<\/p>\n Before her arrest, Ashley denied that her husband had ever trafficked her and told the outlet that she was not a prostitute.<\/p>\n “He\u2019s a great husband, an amazing father to my three kids and I believe in the justice system,” she told Fox 4. “I\u2019m absolutely no victim of my husband or anybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear whether either Ashley or Michael has retained an attorney.<\/p>\n In 2023, she was removed from a Godley school district committee establishing the district\u2019s sex education curriculum after officials discovered she had been convicted of prostitution in 2012 and 2016, the outlet reported. At the time, she had also allegedly been advertising on escort sites.<\/p>\n
