EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 The El Paso dentist accused of child sex crimes has had his license suspended, according to online records. <\/p>\n
Texas-licensed dentist, Oscar Vargas, has been placed under an enforced suspension, prohibiting him from practicing for an extended period, according to official licensing records.<\/p>\n
The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners said the license was suspended on April 9.<\/p>\n
TSBDE said the board will schedule a “probable cause” hearing within 30 days and a hearing “on the merits” within 60 days.<\/p>\n

TSBDE suspended the license on Thursday, April 9th, and placed the Order on the TSBDE website the same day to notify the public. When a licensee is suspended, the board schedules a probable cause hearing within 30 days and a hearing on the merits within 60 days. The licensee cannot treat patients while their license is suspended.<\/p>\n
Vargas has been licensed in Texas since June 8, 1987, and is currently listed as \u201cEnforced Suspension\u201d status and is set to remain suspended.<\/p>\n
According to online records, his license is set to expire on October 31, 2027.<\/p>\n
During this time, Vargas is legally barred from practicing dentistry.<\/p>\n
Vargas was indicted on charges that accuse him of multiple sex crimes involving a child in March. <\/p>\n
