{"id":256251,"date":"2026-04-18T23:53:36","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T23:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/256251\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T23:53:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T23:53:36","slug":"epcc-holds-annual-gallery-hosting-juried-student-art-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/256251\/","title":{"rendered":"EPCC holds annual gallery hosting juried student art exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) &#8212; El Paso Community College (EPCC) held the Grand Opening of the EPCC Gallery of Fine Art, the 49th\u00a0Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition, and Artist Reception Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Transmountain campus.<\/p>\n<p>EPCC says the event showcases the artistic achievements of EPCC\u2019s students both within the visual arts programs and across other disciplines. The exhibition featured work created during the past year(s) by currently enrolled EPCC students at all levels from across the College District.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArt not only strengthens our campuses and but also our community,\u201d EPCC President Dr. William Serrata said. \u201cStudent exhibitions, like the one we get to enjoy tonight, make campuses more vibrant and accessible. Art isn\u2019t just an academic subject\u2014it\u2019s a bridge between education and community life. She is with  EPCC art instructor Zoe Spiliotis, student Tony Chops and Show judge Michael Reyes.<\/p>\n<p>EPCC says during the event  juried pieces were being awarded throughout the evening celebrating the students\u2019 artistic accomplishments.\u00a0EPCC alumnus and Senior Curator at the El Paso Museum of Art, Michael Reyes, served as juror.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur program is built on collaboration, mentorship, and a shared belief in the power of the arts,\u201d Associate Professor of Art and the Gallery of Fine Art Coordinator Zoe Spiliotis said. \u201cOne of the most exciting developments for us has been the addition of EPCC\u2019s Gallery of Fine Art.
