Starting Sunday, the city will begin enforcing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2026\/04\/09\/fiestas-biggest-event-no-longer-free-city-council-approves-5-gate-fee-for-fiesta-de-los-reyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">$5 admission fee<\/a> at the gate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Fiesta De Los Reyes, one of the city\u2019s largest events, brings in more than 250,000 visitors during Fiesta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">To help fund security efforts, the City of San Antonio voted to enforce a $5 admission fee on April 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe come to see these events all the time, so definitely wanted to get here before the crowd,\u201d Gabriela Ibarra said. \u201cIt\u2019s manageable (when it\u2019s busy). I feel like you see the culture, community, so it\u2019s really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Jared Morris attended the event early Saturday morning with his grandmother.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe parked nearby,\u201d Morris said. \u201cThey had police out front, they have security out there, walked us right in. Super easy. We got in two seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">As guests enter the gate, they walk through metal detectors while all bags are checked, and only small bags are allowed in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Fiesta De Los Reyes runs through Sunday, April 26, typically between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m., apart from an extension to midnight on the Saturday of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade (April 25).<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cEverybody just celebrates together,\u201d Lizette Garcia said. \u201cThat\u2019s the most fun for me.
