ANTHONY, N.M. (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 City Hall in Anthony, New Mexico, was placed on lockdown during an active law enforcement situation being handled in coordination with the El Paso Police Department.<\/p>\n
Officials with the New Mexico State Police said that deputies with the Do\u00f1a Ana County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with Texas DPS were involved in a pursuit with a man identified as 28-year-old Miguel Anchondo.<\/p>\n
Officers were able to track him to a home in Anthony, where officers are attempting to serve an arrest warrant, officials said. <\/p>\n
According to the City of Anthony, two individuals have since been taken into custody, and law enforcement is clearing the scene, adding that there is “no ongoing threat to the public.” <\/p>\n
It is unclear whether Anchondo was one of the individuals arrested. <\/p>\n
While all City Hall services were temporarily unavailable during the incident as a precautionary measure, the lockdown has since been lifted. <\/p>\n
Residents were asked to avoid the area while law enforcement conducted operations.<\/p>\n
A woman at the scene who spoke to KFOX14\/CBS4 said she was the homeowner of the house where authorities searched for a man. <\/p>\n
According to the woman, she “barely knows the man” they are looking for, and expressed frustration that authorities are taking so long to let her back into her home.<\/p>\n
