{"id":257232,"date":"2026-04-19T20:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T20:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/257232\/"},"modified":"2026-04-19T20:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T20:46:08","slug":"softball-suffers-series-loss-at-memphis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/257232\/","title":{"rendered":"Softball Suffers Series Loss at Memphis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMPHIS, Tenn. \u2013\u00a0Mean Green softball dropped the series finale 9-7 to Memphis at Tigers Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nEntering the day in a three-way tie for first place in the American Conference, North Texas (26-21, 14-7) fell to third place and are one game behind South Florida and Wichita State who remain gridlocked at the top of the league at 15-6.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nUNT collected 15 hits against the Tigers (17-31, 5-16), its highest hit total in a loss since it tallied 19 hits in a 10-inning marathon defeat to South Florida at Lovelace Stadium on April 27, 2025.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/blayze-mcnemar\/7371\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7371\" target=\"_blank\">Blayze McNemar<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/elizabeth-moffitt\/7373\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7373\" target=\"_blank\">Elizabeth Moffitt<\/a> led the offense with three hits each while <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/madison-conley\/7367\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7367\" target=\"_blank\">Madison Conley<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/eva-daniels\/7618\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7618\" target=\"_blank\">Eva Daniels<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/meangreensports.com\/sports\/softball\/roster\/ariah-mitchell\/7614\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"7614\" target=\"_blank\">Ariah Mitchell<\/a> each posted two apiece. Moffitt added a game high four RBI while Mitchell scored two runs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Mean Green offense stranded at least one runner on base in every inning for a total of 13 in the game while the defense committed a season-high mark of three errors which resulted in four unearned runs, all in the sixth inning.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nUNT opens a four-game homestand at Lovelace Stadium beginning Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Tarleton State.
