EL PASO, Texas \u2014 An 18-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle, resulting in a fatal crash early Saturday morning, according to El Paso police.<\/p>\n
Police responded to the single-vehicle crash at 6550 Gateway East around 1:44 a.m. The driver, Diego Campos, of East El Paso, Texas, was traveling east when his 2003 Mercury Mountaineer slid sideways into a utility pole. Jennifer Lopez, a 16-year-old rear passenger from East El Paso, Texas, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and later died, according to a press release from the department.<\/p>\n
The vehicle also carried two other passengers: 17-year-old Dominic Vasquez, of Socorro, Texas, and a 15-year-old female from Central El Paso, Texas. The Special Traffic Investigation unit is continuing its investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n
