SOUTHLAKE, Texas \u2014 North Texas TV producer Taylor Sheridan’s new show may be called “Frisco King,” but this week, they’ll be filming in Southlake. And residents will need to be aware of it to avoid certain road closures.<\/p>\n
According to the city,\u00a0<\/a>on Wednesday, April 22, there will be intermittent closures along FM 1709 between Central Avenue and Carroll Avenue. Additionally, parts of State Street and Fountain Place in Southlake Town Square will also see occasional closures.<\/p>\n Parking behind Del Frisco’s will also be closed for production staging, the city said.<\/p>\n Any drivers and visitors to Southlake Town Square are asked to plan alternate routes and expect delays.<\/p>\n Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney posted an update last month<\/a> about the latest Sheridan-produced show, “Frisco King,”<\/a> a spinoff of his Sylvester Stallone-starring “Tulsa King.” In the North Texas version, Samuel L. Jackson will take the leading role.<\/p>\n The premise, according to Cheney’s talks with producers, is a “‘fish out of water’ comedy where Jackson’s character gives up his NOLA roots” to start fresh in a “modern day Mayberry.”<\/p>\n Cheney said the show will start filming in Frisco later this month.<\/p>\n “The Stallone character tells [him] it needs to be Frisco\u2026San Francisco? No Frisco, Tx and here\u2019s your golf polo to fit in,” Cheney said. “[The producers] did joke nobody knows the direction the script will take until Taylor writes it\u2026even Taylor.
