This week a group of five Texas state representatives will visit the camp as part of an investigative committee.<\/p>\n<p>Several parents who lost their daughters in the flood are suing. Camp Mystic&#8217;s attorney says the flood was completely unpredictable.<\/p>\n<p>Camp leaders testified their evacuation plan for the flood was to &#8220;stay put&#8221; and they did not call 9-1-1 or alert staff about the flood warning.<\/p>\n<p>Victims&#8217; parents say this was a failure and they want answers.<\/p>\n<p>After three days of testimony wrapped up in Austin, a judge ruled the camp must keep many damaged buildings at its Guadalupe River location untouched for now.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the investigative committee will be in Kerr County Monday looking for answers into what happened and how to keep it from happening again.<\/p>\n<p>Their findings will shape proposed legislation and the legislative discussion in the next legislature.<\/p>\n<p>We are working to get answers on this still developing story including:<\/p>\n<p>How will the committee&#8217;s investigation differ from the findings of law enforcement?How will that information shape legislation?What specific evidence does the judge want preserved?<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll continue to work to get answers on this story and others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Camp Mystic staffers facing tough questions in court.
