Officials identified the victim as Mary Gonzales, who they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/illegal-immigrants-arrested-after-woman-found-shot-death-texas-woods-1-wanted-mexican-feds-police\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:said;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">said<\/a> had been shot to death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThese alleged cold-blooded murderers should have never been in our country in the first place, and Mary Gonzales should still be alive,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2025\/10\/23\/ice-arrests-two-criminal-illegal-alien-fugitives-wanted-murder-woman-austin-tx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:said;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">said<\/a> Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cOne of these criminals came into our country using Biden\u2019s disastrous CBP One app,\u201d McLaughlin added. \u201cOpen-border policies have deadly consequences. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, these accused murderers will never be free on American streets to commit heinous crimes again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">ICE officials said the arrests highlight the ongoing public-safety risks associated with illegal immigration and recidivism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/ice-strikes-hard-356-gang-160056935.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:reported;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported <\/a>by The Dallas Express, ICE officers in Houston earlier this year arrested 356 illegal aliens linked to violent gang activity. The agency said those detained belonged to more than 40 criminal gangs and had a combined 1,685 convictions, including arson and sexual assault of children.
