As volunteers set up booths and fans head downtown, San Antonio police are warning of heavier-than-usual traffic.<\/p>\n
Plan ahead, allow extra time and be patient,\u00a0SAPD spokesperson Sharavious Jackson said, offering advice to those heading downtown or to the East Side.<\/p>\n
Night in Old San Antonio opens Tuesday at La Villita Historic Arts Village downtown, kicking off the four-night Fiesta staple that runs from 5:30 to 10:30\u00a0p.m. through Friday.<\/p>\n
The event, now in its 78th year, began in 1948 and has grown into one of Fiesta\u2019s signature draws, bringing thousands downtown for food, music and cultural booths.<\/p>\n
On the near East Side, the Spurs are set to host the Portland Trail Blazers at 7\u00a0p.m. Tuesday at Frost Bank Center in Game 2 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series.<\/p>\n
