Custer Road<\/p>\n<p>Project: The North Texas Municipal Water District is currently working to replace an aging pipeline along Custer Road in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/plano\/transportation\/2026\/04\/13\/check-out-7-ongoing-upcoming-transportation-projects-in-plano\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Plano<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Update: According to a Plano city news release, 4,900 feet of the 9,100-foot pipeline have been installed. Permanent paving at West 15th Street and Pitman Drive will be scheduled pending water testing.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: February 2025-October 2026Cost: $18 millionFunding source: North Texas Municipal Water District2. Legacy Drive intersection improvements <\/p>\n<p>Project: <\/p>\n<p>Crews are working to improve intersections in west Plano, including Corporate Drive and Legacy Drive.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Several lanes along Legacy Drive will see closures for ongoing construction.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: September 2025-June 2026Cost: $2.59 millionFunding source: city of Plano3. US 75 expansion<\/p>\n<p>Project:<\/p>\n<p> The <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/allen\/transportation\/2026\/04\/15\/check-out-4-transportation-projects-affecting-allen-residents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">project<\/a> will expand US 75 into five lanes by converting existing high-occupancy vehicle lanes into \u201ctechnology lanes,\u201d which will have designated time periods for HOV travel but will be open for all drivers at other times.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Richardson crews are on track to complete the project by summer 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: March 2024-summer 2026Cost: $57 millionFunding source: Texas Department of TransportationDenton County <\/p>\n<p>4. Bonnie Brae Street Phase 6 widening<\/p>\n<p>Project:<\/p>\n<p> Workers will widen the road with two additional lanes and a pedestrian and bike path alongside the road in <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/denton\/transportation\/2026\/04\/14\/check-out-8-transportation-projects-around-denton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Denton<\/a>. The phase is part of a multiyear seven-phase expansion project.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Contractors began work to modify the soil in preparation for the roadway expansion at the northern part of Bonnie Brae Street.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: January 2025-April 2027Cost: $38 millionFunding sources: city of Denton, Denton County5. Alice Street reconstruction<\/p>\n<p>Project: <\/p>\n<p>The project will replace the waterline, curb, gutter and portions of the sidewalk along Alice Street in Denton. The project\u2019s scope also includes a total roadway reconstruction. This project is funded from the $50 million Neighborhood 2 bond approved by voters in 2019. <\/p>\n<p>Update: Crews are nearly complete with concrete work with final paving scheduled for late April.<\/p>\n<p>Timeline: September 2025-JuneCost: $1.46 millionFunding source: city of Denton<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Check out five road projects happening around Dallas-Fort Worth.
