Family and community gather to honor Jacob \u201cJJ\u201d Serna and call for end to gun violence.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A community gathering and candlelight vigil are being held today on Weber Road following a Wednesday night shooting outside Get Faded Barbershop that killed teenager Jacob \u201cJJ\u201d Serna.<\/p>\n
Family members say the event is meant to honor his life and help the community come together after the loss. JJ is being remembered for his smile, kindness, and the joy he brought to those around him.<\/p>\n
Organizers will also be selling food during the event, including plates for $10 that include a hamburger, chips, and a drink. A candlelight vigil is scheduled for 8 p.m. as the community gathers to remember him.<\/p>\n
In addition, Get Faded Barbershop says all proceeds from Monday\u2019s haircuts will be donated directly to Jacob\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
Outside the barbershop, damage from the shooting remains visible as the community continues to grieve. His family is calling for an end to gun violence and asking for justice.<\/p>\n
