A woman has been charged with her husband\u2019s 2002 murder after the case went cold for decades, police announced.<\/p>\n
Lisa Honrud, 55, was arrested Monday for allegedly killing Frank Weiss \u2014 her husband, who was found shot dead near Lake Lewisville in Frisco, Texas, 24 years ago \u2014 after investigators received new information from a key witness, police said<\/a>.<\/p>\n Police also credited the breakthrough to new forensic technology, although they did not reveal specifically what led them to arrest Weiss\u2019 widow.<\/p>\n Lisa Honrud was arrested on Sunday and charged with her husband\u2019s 2002 murder. Frisco Police Department<\/p>\n Weiss\u2019 body was found by fishermen near the lake wrapped in a plastic bag with two gunshot wounds to the chest, according to KDFW. The case went cold for nearly a quarter-century until Honrud\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n Weiss\u2019 daughter, Carla Weiss, now 44, said she believes others were likely involved in her dad\u2019s death, noting that her father was a large man.<\/p>\n Weiss said it was both difficult and bittersweet to learn about Honrud\u2019s arrest after living more than half her life with the mystery of her father\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n \u201cHope is a funny thing.
