The University of Texas at Arlington Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will present
\nDance in Flux, a concert of creative faculty research performed April 24-26. at the
\nUniversity of Texas at Arlington Fine Arts Building in the Studio Theatre.<\/p>\n

Under the artistic direction of UTA assistant professor Laurie M. Ndecontee Taylor, Dance in
\nFlux celebrates new works by dance professors Taylor (Daba Waraba, The Thirst Before the
\nPour), Claudia Pacheco Orcasitas (Anah\u00ed), and Ginny Wheeler (No Words).<\/p>\n
Additional design elements provided by UTA Design & Technology faculty; Lighting and Projections Design by Phillip Schroeder, Sound Design by Tyler Haws.<\/p>\n
Taylor is a Liberian American choreographer and creative culturalist. Her work
\ncenters around iterative and creative practices of “placeness,” posing questions around
\nthe reconceptualization and functionality of “place” as a thinking-based movement
\npractice. She has toured nationally and internationally with her company, Laurie M.
\nTaylor\/Soul Movement, as well as with Nicholas Leichter Dance, Urban Bush Women,
\nFrancine E. Ott\/The Walk, Aguibou Bougubali Sanou, among others.<\/p>\n
Dance in Flux plays April 24 at 7:30pm, April 25 at 7:30pm, and April 26 at 2pm in the
\nFine Arts Building Studio Theatre at UTA.<\/p>\n
