{"id":260417,"date":"2026-04-22T01:18:26","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T01:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/260417\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T01:18:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T01:18:26","slug":"george-strait-concert-weekend-fills-hotels-across-lubbock-surrounding-towns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/260417\/","title":{"rendered":"George Strait concert weekend fills hotels across Lubbock &#038; surrounding towns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LAMESA, Texas (KOSA) &#8211; Hotels across West Texas are seeing a major surge in bookings this weekend as country music fans are making their way in for George Strait.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Many hotels say rooms have been sold out for months, with some travelers booking stays in surrounding cities, like Lamesa.<\/p>\n<p>Hotels fully booked for weekend<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Talana Cardona, office manager at Shiloh Inn in Lamesa, said guests started booking in late December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cBy the end of January, I\u2019m going to say the middle of January we were completely booked out,\u201d Cardona said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alisa Rodriguez, front desk clerk at Best Western in Lamesa, said the demand has been building since January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019ve had guests start booking since January, so it\u2019s been exciting for us and we\u2019re ready,\u201d Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For those hoping to attend, hotels recommend bringing campers or tents if all rooms remain unavailable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Shiloh Inn has 50 rooms on their property. Friday and Saturday are completely booked, with minimum availability on Thursday and Sunday, said Talana Cardona, office manager at Shiloh Inn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAnd when I went and looked on our check-in, then there was no room for no reservations. It was totally booked from online,\u201d Cardona said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Even oilfield workers in the area are giving up their rooms for travelers to have a place to stay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cSome of them are leaving, checking out for the weekend and they\u2019ll be back on Monday to give up some rooms for the guests that have already booked the rooms,\u201d Cardona said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Best Western, located down the street from Shiloh Inn, is also completely booked for the weekend. They have a total of 54 sold out rooms. Similar to Shiloh Inn, the bookings began months earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe\u2019ve had guests start booking since January, so it\u2019s been exciting for us and we\u2019re ready,\u201d said Alisa Rodriguez, front desk clerk at Best Western.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Both hotels say they have received between 10 to 20 calls a day about room reservations for the George Strait concerts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lamesa is also hosting its 15th annual Chicken Fried Steak Festival. For Best Western, this weekend\u2019s travelers will be above their normal, but they are ready to accommodate where they can.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI mean we\u2019re all happy to have everyone, all our guests come into town to Lamesa and we\u2019re glad for their business and service. We\u2019re here for everyone,\u201d Rodriguez said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DPS says there will be increased patrols throughout the weekend, monitoring speeding, seatbelt violations, and impaired driving.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KOSA.
