Authorities in Harris County are asking for the public\u2019s assistance in locating a fugitive accused of using fraudulent documents to carry out vehicle registration and title transfer transactions.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, Guadalupe \u201cLupita\u201d Alfaro Gonzalez, 36, has been charged with tampering with a government record, a second-degree felony. <\/p>\n
Detectives allege that Gonzalez presented fake Mexican passports under false identities to the Harris County Tax Office as part of a scheme that began in July 2024 and continued for approximately six months.<\/p>\n
Court records indicate that Gonzalez was employed by a title-service company that is no longer licensed to operate in Harris County. Authorities believe the fraudulent activity was conducted during her time with that company.<\/p>\n
If convicted, Gonzalez could face a prison sentence ranging from two to 20 years, along with a fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n
The investigation is being led by detectives with Harris County Constable Precinct One, specifically those assigned to the Harris County Tax Office Special Investigations Unit.<\/p>\n
Officials believe Gonzalez may still be in the Houston area and note that she may have ties to Mexico. Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.<\/p>\n
