One of several proposed hotel projects<\/a> in the Fort Worth Stockyards appears to be headed in a different direction.<\/p>\n

The 0.3-acre lot on the northeast corner of West Exchange and Clinton Avenues could now become the home of a two-story mixed-use development<\/a>, according to a permit filed with the city of Fort Worth\u2019s Historic and Cultureal Landmarks Commission.<\/p>\n

The project could incorporate \u201ca diverse range of uses,\u201d according to the permit application including food and beverage and hospitality.<\/p>\n

The eastern side of the building has an opening to accommodate a covered dining patio and a balcony for the second floor, the permit application said.<\/p>\n

Trey Neville, the developer behind the project, confirmed in an email to the Star-Telegram that the building would not be a hotel.<\/p>\n

It will be a commercial building whose use it to be determined, he said.<\/p>\n

Prior iterations proposed building first a four-story<\/a>, then three-story boutique on the site.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s Urban Design Commission denied the four-story concept at its July 2023 meeting. Neville reapplied with a three-story concept<\/a> in September 2024, but the city did not act on the application, according to city records.<\/p>\n

The parcel was sold in December 2025<\/a>, according to Tarrant Appraisal District records.<\/p>\n

The earliest the city\u2019s Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission could evaluate this latest iteration of the project would be the 1 p.m. meeting on May 13 at Fort Worth City Hall.<\/p>\n
