After years of infertility struggles and a public IVF journey, Houston TV<\/a> anchor Mayra Moreno<\/a> has welcomed her first child.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the longtime\u00a0KTRK-TV ABC13 Houston anchor announced the birth of a baby boy<\/a> in an emotional social media post.<\/p>\n

“Life the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind and scary but now it feels complete and we are safe! Thank you Lord Jesus! We have a BOY!!!!!!” Moreno wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moreno revealed in late 2025 that she was expecting her first child after what she described as a long and difficult road to pregnancy. She has been candid with viewers about years of trying to conceive, the heartbreak of setbacks and the decision to pursue in-vitro fertilization with her husband.<\/p>\n

“In the midst of uncertainty, we clung to faith and hope,” she wrote on Instagram<\/a> in November 2025, reflecting on years of wanting a child as it continued to feel out of reach. Moreno said\u00a0IVF became the path forward, guided by faith, and that the shots, bruises, scans, delays and tears had begun to fade as they celebrated “the day we once prayed for is finally here.”<\/p>\n

“He’s here! He’s here!” Knight wrote. “My little nephew is here! Congratulations to my sweet sister ABC13-Mayra Moreno<\/a> and her hubby!”<\/p>\n

Moreno joined ABC 13<\/a> in October 2015, returning to her hometown of Houston after four years at KENS 5 in San Antonio<\/a>, where she worked as a weekend anchor and reporter. She previously worked at\u00a0KRGV-TV Channel 5 News in Weslaco and later at CW39 Houston<\/a> as a fill-in anchor and reporter.<\/p>\n

A graduate of the University of Houston<\/a>, Moreno earned a double major in journalism and Spanish while graduating magna cum laude.<\/p>\n
