Ongoing projects <\/p>\n

Cesar Chavez Street and Red Bluff Road<\/p>\n

Project: The project includes safer intersections and lane configurations, protected bicycle lanes, new left-turn lanes, transit access and improved bus stops and new pedestrian crossings. The city will extend the Colorado River Trail between Longhorn Dam and Shady Lane.<\/p>\n

Update: The city held community meetings in April and is surveying residents <\/a>on their feedback through May 11.<\/p>\n

Timeline: summer 2027-summer 2028 or 2029Cost: $6.5 millionFunding sources: federal funding, 2018 and 2020 Mobility BondsCompleted projects <\/p>\n

Airport Boulevard Shared-Use Path<\/p>\n

Project: The city of Austin completed a new shared-use path along the west side of Airport Boulevard between East 51st Street and Middle Fiskville Road.<\/p>\n

Update: The project reached completion in early April.<\/p>\n

Timeline: summer 2024-spring 2026Cost: $6.9 millionFunding source: 2016 Mobility BondMartin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Springdale Road and Heflin Lane intersection<\/p>\n

Project:<\/p>\n

The city dedicated a northbound left-turn bay on Springdale Road and converted Heflin Lane to right-in\/right-out only. The corridor received \u200b\u200brelocated and upgraded CapMetro bus stops as well as added raised bike lanes, restriped high-visibility crosswalks and new shared-use paths.<\/p>\n

Update: The project reached completion in late February.<\/p>\n
