Jamie-Lynn Sigler revealed that she moved away from Hollywood because she wanted more privacy as she battles MS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe needed a change,\u201d she told Us Weekly<\/a> in a new interview about relocating to Austin, Texas with her family five years ago.<\/p>\n

The \u201cSopranos\u201d alum added, \u201cWhen I moved here, I started using a cane once in a while because I didn\u2019t feel like I was being watched.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Sopranos\u201d alum Jamie-Lynn Sigler told US Weekly that she moved from Hollywood to Austin, Texas because she wanted privacy in her MS battle. jamielynnsigler\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Sigler, who has two sons<\/a> with husband Cutter Dykstra, said that in Austin she feels like she\u2019s \u201cjust Beau and Jack\u2019s mom at the baseball field.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress and Dykstra, 36, left California for Texas with Beau, 12, and Jack, 8, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.<\/p>\n

The following year, Sigler told People <\/a>that she felt \u201cdisconnected, in the best way I\u2019ve ever know\u201d as a Texas resident.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all about outdoors and nature which I really appreciate since I never had it growing up in New York and LA,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

Sigler also said at the time that her sons were \u201cthriving\u201d and \u201cnot holed up on screens as much anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sigler was\u00a0diagnosed with multiple sclerosis<\/a>\u00a0when she was 20 years old,\u00a0but she waited until 2016 when she was 34 to announce her diagnosis.<\/p>\n

In her Us Weekly interview done to promote her upcoming memoir, \u201cAnd So It Is\u2026.: A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope\u201d<\/a> (out May 5), Sigler recalled that hiding her MS took a toll on her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was always acting. I had no idea what authenticity felt like,\u201d she shared. \u201cEverything was a lie and for show. I didn\u2019t even know who I was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sigler explained that her \u201csecrets had piled up\u201d and she felt like she was \u201csuffocating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was constantly in fight or flight and survival mode. I\u2019m sure that it contributed to a lot of the flare-ups I experienced,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEntourage\u201d actress learned to cope with her illness thanks to her podcast partner Christina Applegate, who also has MS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI give Christina all the credit for being like, \u201cYeah, we have to wear diapers sometimes,’\u201d Sigler told the outlet. \u201cThat was always, like, God forbid anybody would have known [that].\u201d<\/p>\n

She even has a podcast with Christina Applegate (both pictured above) where they talk about their experiences having MS. GMA\/ABC<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still such shame about it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Sigler and Applegate, 54, talk about their experiences with MS on their \u201cMeSsy\u201d podcast<\/a> that debuted in 2024.<\/p>\n
