{"id":261531,"date":"2026-04-22T18:45:06","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:45:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/261531\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T18:45:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T18:45:06","slug":"six-flags-over-texas-gets-new-president-to-enhance-guest-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/261531\/","title":{"rendered":"Six Flags Over Texas gets new president to \u201cenhance guest experience\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran Six Flags executive Pete Carmichael named Six Flags Over Texas president as company adjusts operating structure.<\/p>\n<p>ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 Six Flags Entertainment is restoring park-level leadership at several of its top properties \u2014 including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/nation-world\/six-flags-offers-free-2026-season-pass-for-kids\/507-51520005-c9f1-4349-a358-611246d50eb1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Six Flags Over Texas<\/a> \u2014 as part of a broader push to improve operations and the guest experience.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, the company said it is reintroducing park presidents at 10 key parks across North America to \u201cstrengthen local leadership and enhance the guest experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of that move, Pete Carmichael has been named park president at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington.<\/p>\n<p>Carmichael has more than a decade of experience with the company, according to his LinkedIn profile, serving as park president at Six Flags New England and Six Flags St. Louis before moving to the position of regional general manager of Northeast parks.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the shift is designed to give individual parks more direct oversight and accountability at the local level.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership change comes during a period of transition for Six Flags. The company reported attendance of 47.38 million guests in 2025, up from 41.64 million in 2024, though executives acknowledged results did not meet expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile 2025 results fell short of our expectations, the work completed over the past year has strengthened the foundation of our enterprise,\u201d said John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags in its recent earnings release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver that time, we made significant investments to improve our park infrastructures, added exciting new attractions to our parks, upgraded our technology systems, and enhanced our food and beverage offerings,\u201d Reilly said. \u201cIn 2026, we will continue to invest heavily \u2026 and we are implementing clearer lines of accountability across the organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For North Texas, the return of a dedicated park president marks a notable leadership shift at the Arlington park, one of the company\u2019s flagship locations.<\/p>\n<p>The change follows recent leadership movement in the region. Jeffrey Siebert, who previously served as regional general manager for Texas overseeing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/tarrant-county\/six-flags-not-buy-out-other-partners-ownership-six-flags-over-texas\/287-273bb742-ac90-42bb-86c8-2a4e69e17d59\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Six Flags Over Texas<\/a> and other properties, recently left the company, saying in a social media post he was \u201ctaking a pause\u201d to spend more time with family.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement also comes as Six Flags continues broader strategic changes, including plans to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/nation-world\/six-flags-selling-seven-parks-st-louis-minneapolis-kansas-city-grand-rapids-galveston-queensbury\/507-17784d3f-2bc9-4335-8c4d-53afbc315bfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0sell seven parks<\/a> across North America and invest in new attractions and park upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>Last October, a group that includes activist investor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/syndication\/associatedpress\/activist-investor-group-that-includes-travis-kelce-aims-to-revive-struggling-six-flags\/616-b8a56663-65bd-42a5-b2b0-25e1281f89b8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jana Partners and NFL player Travis Kelce<\/a> announced it had accumulated one of the largest ownership stakes in Six Flags Entertainment and intended to press the company&#8217;s leadership on ways to improve the amusement park operator&#8217;s business.<\/p>\n<p>Locally, Six Flags Over Texas has also been rolling out new offerings, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/six-flags-over-texas-new-roller-coaster-tormenta\/287-fd54c661-d26f-4bc1-9eae-4b4ef39cf054\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">new record-breaking coaster<\/a> and recently announced free season passes for children ages 3 to 5.<\/p>\n<p>The Arlington park is also preparing for increased competition in North Texas, with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/universal-kids-resort-in-frisco-shares-sneak-peek-into-three-more-fantasy-lands\/287-72457cba-81f0-4a7d-974b-87076bb1bab7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Universals Kids Resort\u00a0<\/a>scheduled to open in nearby Frisco later this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Veteran Six Flags executive Pete Carmichael named Six Flags Over Texas president as company adjusts operating structure.
