Fort Worth<\/p>\n

A new movie featuring \u201cLandman\u201d star<\/a> Billy Bob Thornton will have its world premiere in North Texas this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Dallas International Film Festival<\/a> will screen \u201cRound Pegs Square Holes: Art vs. Commerce in Deep Ellum\u201d<\/a> at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Texas Theatre. The documentary follows the rebirth of Dallas\u2019 Deep Ellum neighborhood from a \u201crelative ghost town to a thriving music district.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Dunaway and Russell David Hobbs co-directed the film that features interviews with Thornton, former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Fort Worth band the Toadies and many more.<\/p>\n

Billy Bob Thornton film to premiere at DIFF<\/p>\n

While known for his long acting career, Thornton has played in a band for two decades.<\/p>\n

Thornton formed The Boxmasters<\/a> in 2006, and the band has churned out 19 albums since. Their next album, \u201cIn The Bay,\u201d releases June 12.<\/p>\n

The band is embarking on a tour this summer, with a planned stop in Fort Worth at Billy Bob\u2019s Texas<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n

The Deep Ellum project is one of more than 120 films playing this year\u2019s Dallas International Film Festival, which is April 23-30.<\/p>\n
