AUSTIN (KXAN) \u2014 Artificial Intelligence has entered most industries, including real estate.<\/p>\n
TurboHome<\/a> is an AI-powered brokerage which launched in 2024 to allow buyers to analyze, tour and research homes without a traditional agent.<\/p>\n The company uses AI to look into comps and reports to closer analyze properties for buyers or sellers.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything you can do with technology now,\u201d said Kunjan Patel, who is selling his home through TurboHome.<\/p>\n Patel says it was a way to save some money.<\/p>\n \u201cI was looking for other options because I thought paying someone 5, 6 percent commission did not make sense to me,\u201d said Patel.<\/p>\n TurboHome replaces commission fees with a flat fee<\/a>, but still offers professional help from realtors on their staff.<\/p>\n \u201cI think people have gotten very comfortable with these types of tools with the paradigm of seeing a doctor remotely, and we are just bringing that to real estate,\u201d said TurboHome CEO Ben Bear.<\/p>\n Austin\u2019s housing market: How quickly are homes selling, and for how much? <\/a><\/p>\n Bear says it\u2019s just another option for people looking to buy or sell and it\u2019s a way to save a little money.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are trying to provide that choice, we don\u2019t think full service luxury agents are going to go away,\u201d said Bear. \u201cBut if you want to save 10, 20, 30 thousand so you can lower your down payment or your monthly payments on your loan we think we are providing a good option.\u201d<\/p>\n Bear says some people still might want the traditional agent to help them through the process.<\/p>\n \u201cBut for folks who do want to do more of those self actions around analyzing properties, getting recommendations, analyzing inspection reports or self scheduling tours we allow them to take a lot of it into their own hands,\u201d said Bear.<\/p>\n Austin Realtor Christen Bakke<\/a> weighed in on the rise of AI in real estate.<\/p>\n \u201cI think there is always going to be the buyer or seller who want to save money and not use a realtor, and I think that market is always going to be there and they will utilize AI,\u201d said Bakke.<\/p>\n
