\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWondering what\u2019s behind lane changes or detours? Several road projects across the Cedar Park<\/a> area are reshaping local traffic patterns, from major roadway expansions to shared-use paths, bringing both short-term disruptions and long-term improvements.<\/p>\n

Upcoming projects<\/p>\n

Lakeline Boulevard shared-use path<\/p>\n

Project: A 10-foot paved shared-use path is planned along Lakeline Boulevard between New Hope Drive and Little Elm Trail to improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity.<\/p>\n

Update: Design is 90% complete. Plans have been revised to modify an existing roadway bridge rather than construct a new pedestrian bridge, with final design and permitting ongoing.<\/p>\n

RM 1431 road and intersection improvements<\/p>\n

Project: Road improvements are planned from New Hope Drive to Bagdad Road and also at the RM 1431 and Whitestone Boulevard intersection near 183A Toll, both in attempt to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.<\/p>\n

Update: The city and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority<\/a> have finalized an agreement for CTRMA to lead project delivery, and the project is moving into preliminary engineering and design of the intersection. The road improvements schematic has been approved by TxDOT and is awaiting funding approval and environmental clearance.<\/p>\n

183A at Scottsdale dedicated U-turn<\/p>\n

Project: Plans for the improvement project at 183A Toll and Scottsdale Drive include a redesigned intersection with a free-flow U-turn and added turn lanes to improve traffic flow.<\/p>\n

Update: Design is underway.<\/p>\n

Timeline: 2026-27Cost: $1.3 millionFunding source: 2022 transportation bondOngoing projects<\/p>\n

New Hope Drive expansion<\/p>\n

Project: Traffic changes are underway as the city expands New Hope Drive from four to six lanes and introduces an innovative intersection at 183A Toll.<\/p>\n

Update: Construction is active between Block House Drive and CR 180, with a traffic shift expected as work progresses. Design work continues on the western segment toward Lakeline Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Timeline: 2024-27Cost: design phase $1.8 millionFunding source: 2022 transportation bondToro Grande Boulevard roadway improvements<\/p>\n

Project: Work is underway to improve and extend Toro Grande Boulevard. The north side will receive intersection improvements, turn lanes and pedestrian infrastructure, while the south will enhance connectivity between RM 1431, New Hope Drive and Parmer Lane.<\/p>\n

Update: Beginning April 6, drivers will follow lane adjustments along Toro Grande Boulevard at the RM 1431 intersection. The city broke ground on the expansion portion of the project in November. Construction is progressing on roadway widening, utilities and drainage across multiple segments.<\/p>\n

Timeline: 2025-27Cost: $38.1 millionFunding source: Cedar Park 2015 and 2022 bond programs, Williamson County183A Toll frontage roads<\/p>\n

Project: This project will add two lanes on either side of 183A Toll from East Whitestone Boulevard to Avery Ranch Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Update: Construction is underway on both the north and southbound frontage roads.<\/p>\n

Timeline: 2025-29Cost: $139 millionFunding source: TxDOTBell District shared-use path<\/p>\n

Project: Construction is underway on a 10-foot-wide, concrete shared-use path connecting 183A Toll to Bell Park along Brushy Creek Road. It will connect two existing paths at both locations.<\/p>\n

Update: Construction is complete from South Bell Boulevard to South Mustang Avenue, and will move through South Cougar Avenue. Eastbound lanes remain open.<\/p>\n

Timeline: 2025-26Cost: $2.5 millionFunding source: 2022 transportation bond<\/p>\n
