The move came after the City Plan Commission earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/retail\/article\/central-market-uptown-clears-key-approval-dallas-22183691.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gave the thumbs-up<\/a> to the proposal. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years, Uptown residents have expressed their desire for a Central Market designed to serve their growing neighborhood,\u201d said Mabrie Jackson, the managing director of public affairs for H-E-B\/Central Market, in an emailed statement. \u201cWe are grateful for the ongoing support and thoughtful input from city leaders and staff throughout this journey. This project has been a long-time in the making, and we are very excited to take this important next step in the building and construction process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Central Market, part of\u00a0H-E-B, is set to be near the busy corner of Lemmon and McKinney avenues. The proposal included a parking structure, landscaping and other features at the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The grocer, a longtime player in the region, has several sites in the region, with spots in Dallas,\u00a0Plano, Southlake and Fort Worth.
