The Nevada men’s basketball team has added depth to its frontcourt with the addition of Houston transfer Cedric Lath, a 6-foot-9, 265-pound center. The Wolf Pack announced the signing Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
Lath spent four seasons at Houston, a national powerhouse, and saw limited playing time. He was an active player for three seasons from 2023-26 and appeared in 66 games, recording 28 points, 59 rebounds and 16 blocks in 333 minutes. He made 45.8 percent of his shots and 33.3 percent of his free throws.<\/p>\n
Lath never played more than six minutes per game for Houston, which went 130-21 during his tenure. But he could earn a sizable role for Nevada, which lost starting center Joel Armotrading to graduation this offseason. The Wolf Pack previously signed Memphis transfer Simon Majok, who is 7-1, to bolster the center spot alongside returning power forward Elijah Price.<\/p>\n
Lath is a native of Abidjan, Ivory Coast and spent a year in Canada before coming to the United States. He began his prep career at Liberty High in Henderson before finishing it at Balboa School in San Diego. A three-star prep prospect, per 247Sports, Lath picked Houston over scholarship offers from Texas, BYU, UCLA, TCU, Kansas State, Arizona and Illinois.<\/p>\n
At Houston, Lath’s highest point total was four, that coming in games against Jackson State in 2024 and New Orleans in 2025. His high rebound total was six in a conference tournament game against Iowa State in 2024. Lath hit double-figures in minutes played nine times in 66 games for the Cougars.<\/p>\n
