Although Black families still faced ongoing discrimination in Riverside Terrace early on, by the 1960s, the neighborhood had transitioned into a cultural hub for Black professional life.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the same architects behind River Oaks also designed homes in Riverside Terrace, even mirroring the same\u00a0floorplans, Bonner-Holley said. Upstairs, the primary suite was updated with an extensive bathroom remodel featuring more modern fixtures and quartz countertops. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At some point over the years, the primary suite was enlarged and an adjacent room was converted into an oversized walk-in closet featuring white built-in shelves and a crystal-looking chandelier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the back, previous owners also added a pool alongside a summer kitchen and a 600-square-foot garage apartment. A three-car garage opens onto an alley behind the residence.<\/p>\n<p>Since the\u00a0Knowles moved out in the early 1990s, the home has traded hands multiple times.
