For the last six years, he\u2019s served as executive vice president, helping shape the company\u2019s strategic direction and strengthen its operations, the company said. This week, it announced that he has taken the presidential reins from David Zachry, who will now focus solely on his duties as CEO for\u00a0Zachry Construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTravis has been instrumental in setting our course and building the strong trajectory we are on today,\u201d Zachry said. \u201cHe understands our business deeply and has helped elevate the discipline, accountability, and execution that positions us for continued success. I\u2019m confident Travis is the right leader to guide Zachry Construction into its next chapter.<\/p>\n<p>The century-old family business is known for its work as a heavy civil, roadway and infrastructure construction company, completing more than 6,000 large-scale projects in both the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The data center industry is another sector that the company is targeting, building on its experience with sitework and underground utility infrastructure.\u00a0The company moves dirt and puts in drainage infrastructure, laying the foundation for dry and wet utilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs demand for critical infrastructure continues to grow, our job is to bring consistency, discipline, and a high standard of execution to every project,\u201d Mross said. \u201cThat focus will continue to guide how we serve clients and grow the business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As president, Mross will be responsible for operations, client service and delivery across all its sectors\u00a0\u2014 water, transportation, underground utility and civil sitework. His top priorities will include \u201ca continued focus on strategic growth and operational excellence\u201d and strengthening its corporate culture while maintaining a \u201cgritty mindset,\u201d the company said in a news release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zachry Construction\u2019s longstanding roots in San Antonio date back to the founding of H.B. Zachry Co. in 1924 by Henry Bartell \u201cPat\u201d Zachry. The business was passed onto son\u00a0Bartell Zachry, who grew the company into a world-renowned presence in the construction industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, the Zachry Co. was restructured into two separate entities\u00a0\u2014 Zachry Corp. and Zachry Group\u00a0\u2014 each based\u00a0in San Antonio and led by one of Bartell Zachry\u2019s sons.<\/p>\n<p>David Zachry assumed ownership of Zachry Corp., which encompasses multiple companies, including Zachry Construction.
