Taylor Sheridan<\/a>\u2019s media empire continues to churn out new shows \u2014 and new filming locations across North Texas. This week, it was his new series Frisco King<\/a> filming in Southlake Town Square.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill shared photos on his Facebook page<\/a> from the Wednesday shoot, including a picture of series star Samuel L. Jackson. McCaskill noted that 200 people were working on the set, and he thanked production managers Dustin Daniels and Logan Cooper for giving him a behind-the-scenes look at the latest series from the prolific creator of Yellowstone.<\/p>\n

Parts of Southlake Town Square were shut down Wednesday for filming, bringing out curious locals as well as aspiring actors hoping for their big break, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reported<\/a>. Crews closed parts of Central and Carroll avenues, as well as parts of State Street and Fountain Place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frisco King began production in Fort Worth in late March. Once called\u00a0NOLA King, the spin-off of the Paramount+ series Tulsa King was to be set in New Orleans, but it\u2019s now set in Frisco. Sheridan, who owns a ranch in Weatherford and another ranch farther west in Guthrie, has frequently filmed scenes in North Texas for his shows, including Landman, Lioness and The Madison.<\/p>\n

Jackson stars in the eight-episode series as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a hitman who crossed paths with Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King character, Dwight Manfredi. Jackson appeared in the final two episodes of the show\u2019s third season last year.<\/p>\n

No release date has been set for Frisco King.<\/p>\n
