The City of Arlington\u2019s Code Compliance Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) hosted a neighborhood block party in the Timber Run community on March 28, 2026, bringing together residents, city staff and community partners for a day of connection and resource sharing.<\/p>\n
The NET\u2019s mission is to partner with the community to cultivate civic pride and a shared sense of community, enhancing quality of life, strengthening neighborhood appearance, and supporting the economic vitality of Arlington neighborhoods.\u00a0The neighborhood event served as a one-stop shop for residents to engage directly with local leadership, including District 2 Council Representative Raul H. Gonzalez, and learn about available city services.<\/p>\n
Event Highlights:<\/p>\n
Residents interested in revitalizing their neighborhood or needing assistance with yard cleanup are encouraged to connect with the NET. \nResource Sharing:\u00a0The\u00a0City\u2019s Tool Sharing Program<\/a>\u00a0trailer provided neighbors with easy access to home maintenance equipment,\u00a0such as mowers, trimmers, pressure washers, and more.

\nEnvironmental & Utility Support:\u00a0The City\u2019s Asset Management and Environmental Services team answered questions regarding Republic Services\u2019 garbage and recycling collection services, addressed stormwater topics, and distributed educational materials about trash, recycling, and stormwater.
<\/p>\n
\nLiteracy in Action:\u00a0Local partner Community Advocating for Prosperity and Opportunity (CAPO), represented by David Jackson (“The Retired Librarian”), distributed 87 books to families.
