{"id":263545,"date":"2026-04-23T23:54:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/263545\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T23:54:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T23:54:07","slug":"what-texas-am-football-players-will-go-in-round-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/263545\/","title":{"rendered":"What Texas A&#038;M football players will go in Round 1?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last spring,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/sports\/tamu\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas A&amp;M football<\/a> coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statesman.com\/sports\/college\/aggies\/article\/texas-am-football-spring-mike-elko-holmon-wiggins-22081144.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Elko<\/a> had a prediction about the number of Aggies prospects that could be taken Thursday night in the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When you look at the current roster, we project to have more NFL draft picks on this (2025) football team than we have had in quite a long time,&#8221; Elko said May 21. &#8220;I think you can see anywhere from 10 to 12\u00a0Aggies get their name called next year in the NFL draft.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here is where Texas A&amp;M football players are projected to go according to the draft boards.<\/p>\n<p>Howell is largely seen as top-40 prospect in the draft. Pro Football Focus had him as No. 26 on its draft board and CBS,\u00a0ESPN&#8217;s best availabile ranking and Tankathon each had the edge rusher ranked in the 30s. A three-round <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/draft\/news\/nfl-mock-draft-2026-full-3-rounds-all-32-teams-picks\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">CBS mock draft by Mike Renner <\/a>has him going No. 42 to the New Orleans Saints, but<a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/draft2026\/story\/_\/id\/48480079\/2026-nfl-mock-draft-seven-rounds-257-picks-predictions-jordan-reid-fits\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\"> ESPN&#8217;s Jordan Reid<\/a> projected him No. 31 to the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n<p>Concepcion has been most analysts&#8217; pick for first Aggie off the board. That&#8217;s the case in Reid&#8217;s mock, with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking Concepcion at No. 21. The wideout went No. 24 overall to the Cleveland Browns in the CBS prediction. He&#8217;s ranked the 12th-best player in the class by CBS and between 27th and 35 by the other three listed draft boards.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ESPN has Bisontis as the 33rd-best player on its &#8220;best available&#8221; rankings. PFF and Tankathon each has the offensive lineman at No. 48 and CBS has him at No. 51. The former All-SEC pick has been an incredible riser during the draft process.\u00a0Bisontis was the 30th overall pick to the Miami Dolphins in the mock draft from CBS.
