Storms are brewing <\/a>over Texas just as the week comes to a close. Now, the National Weather Service is warning that storms are on the horizon for San Antonio, but all the action should hit after the Fiesta San Antonio<\/a> parade has wrapped up and folks are again crowding the highways.<\/p>\n

A large system<\/a> is sweeping Texas late this week. It\u2019s brought severe weather threats to nearly every major metro across the state, and San Antonio will soon join those ranks. Forecasters have growing confidence in rain odds in the Alamo City, and across the Texas Hill Country, Friday, April 24. And they\u2019re saying any storms that develop have the potential to become severe.<\/p>\n

\u201cA strong cap should be in place for much of the day, but there is some guidance that erode the cap just enough ahead of the dryline for one or two isolated thunderstorms to develop,\u201d the NWS Austin-San Antonio<\/a> office warns. \u201cWith strong instability and moderate shear available to any thunderstorms that can form, storms could quickly become strong to severe with large hail, damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours the main hazards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thunderstorm odds remain relatively low for San Antonio, hovering around 20% most of Friday. But any storms that do develop are expected to happen after 4 p.m. \u2013 well after the Fiesta parade as finished its route and the roads are back open.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Storms are brewing over Texas just as the week comes to a close.
