CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Corpus Christi police say a suspect has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting on South Staples St.<\/p>\n

19-year-old Sebastian Carrillo Sosa is now charged with murder and unlawful carrying of a weapon.<\/p>\n

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, the shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 5400 block of South Staples St., outside Mr. Nice Guys smoke shop and a nearby food truck.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately began life-saving efforts. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

Preliminary information suggests a possible robbery took place and a weapon was produced during the incident.<\/p>\n

Several people were detained at the scene as detectives worked to gather information, and witnesses were later interviewed at police headquarters.<\/p>\n

Police say the case appears to be isolated, and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to contact CCPD or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n
