Corpus Christi police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting at a shopping center on South Staples Street on April 23.<\/p>\n
Police officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of South Staples Street at 5:38 p.m. in reference to a shooting, according to an online post by the police department.<\/p>\n
Officers found an adult man with a gunshot wound and began administering first aid. Medics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.<\/p>\n
The police department announced April 24 that Sebastian Carrillo Sosa, 19, was taken into custody on charges of murder and unlawfully carrying of a weapon. As of April 24, Carrillo Sosa remained in the Nueces County Jail with his total bond amounts at $255,000, according to jail records.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigation by detectives suggested that a possible robbery had occurred and a weapon was produced.<\/p>\n
