{"id":264808,"date":"2026-04-24T19:53:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T19:53:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/264808\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T19:53:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T19:53:12","slug":"plano-city-council-approves-summer-school-zones-newly-established-school-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/264808\/","title":{"rendered":"Plano City Council approves summer school zones, newly established school zones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPlano officials unanimously approved new school zones for 2026 summer school sessions and two new school zones impacting Otto and Fowler middle schools.<\/p>\n<p>The new zones were approved at an April 13 City Council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The gist<\/p>\n<p>School zones for the summer change from year to year because the locations of summer school sessions for Plano ISD and Frisco ISD schools within city limits can vary each year, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/plano.novusagenda.com\/agendapublic\/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=10751&amp;MeetingID=3679\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">city documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Approved school zones, which are for streets near some PISD schools, will vary in dates and times.<\/p>\n<p>Elementary schools<\/p>\n<p>May 27-June 24 from 7:15-8 a.m. and 3-3:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>June 1-25 from 8-8:45 a.m. and 2:55-3:40 p.m.Christie ElementaryMeadows ElementaryJuly 6-17 from 7:15-8 a.m. and 2:15-3 p.m.Daffron ElementaryJackson ElementaryMendenhall ElementaryMiddle schools<\/p>\n<p>June 1-18 from 8-8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.-12 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Hendrick MiddleRice MiddleRobinson MiddleJuly 6-17 from 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:15 p.m.High schools<\/p>\n<p>June 1-23 from 7:15-8 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Also of note<\/p>\n<p>City staff found unmarked pedestrian crossings used by Otto and Fowler Middle School students, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/plano.novusagenda.com\/agendapublic\/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=10750&amp;MeetingID=3679\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">city documents<\/a>.
