The first quarter of 2026 has seen rapid growth for the city’s nightlife scene, bringing everything from \u201870s tiki vibes to easygoing dives. Here\u2019s what we\u2019ve been adding to our libation rotation.<\/p>\n

Jefferson Market Ice House
<\/a>Bar masterminds Olaf Harmel and Gerry Shirley (The Modernist, La Ruina) are back with a new concept. Revamping what once was Jefferson Bodega, Jefferson Market Ice House aims to keep things simple with margs, barbecue, and a good atmosphere on Donaldson Avenue. While the new drinking destination hasn\u2019t made a big to-do about the opening, it\u2019s already becoming a Deco District favorite.<\/p>\n

Merci Jones<\/a>
If Double Standard and Barbaro had a child, it would be Merci Jones. The new bar on Broadway is an impressive addition to the Empty Stomach Group portfolio. The space is straightforward \u2014 a curved bar design, memorabilia reminiscent of a hunting lodge, TV screens, and a tempting happy hour slogan: 7 cocktails for $7 until 7 pm. Like the bar itself, the drink menu doesn’t pull any punches. It knows guests are there for a strong drink and a good time, and Merci Jones certainly delivers.<\/p>\n

Mexico Ceaty
<\/a>Chef Jason Dady’s latest ambitious project isn’t just a bar; it’s a full-fledged elevated food court with multiple restaurants. Perfect for the indecisive drinker who needs a few options, the concept allows guests to sip on a top-shelf margarita at Tres Arcos, an intriguing red bell pepper marg at Dos Cantinas, or indulge in agave tastings at El \u00daltimo. There are plenty of bites to soak up all the tequila, too.<\/p>\n

Paradise Unknown
<\/a>Tiki bars are a dime a dozen nowadays, so what makes a new one stand out? Be Kind & Rewind founder Alex Amaro knew exactly what he was doing with his second bar concept, Paradise Unknown. The tiki cocktails are boozy, skulls abound, and tropical kitsch surrounds guests at Paradise Unknown. Pairing tiki cocktails with light bites from Wok Wey was a stroke of genius \u2014 Chinese food and tiki drinks go together like peanut butter and jelly.<\/p>\n

Stout House Grayson
<\/a>It once seemed like there was a Stout House location for every San Antonio neighborhood except the Pearl. Luckily, the owners decided to change that in March, opening up a long-awaited Pearl location on West Grayson Street. With the brand’s signature laid-back atmosphere, strong selection of reasonably priced drinks, and prime location, Stout House Grayson has quickly become the place to go to watch the latest Spurs playoff win.<\/p>\n
