\n\tBigXthaPlug<\/a> brought big energy to Stagecoach on Friday, as the afternoon sun eased into the early evening. The artist kicked things off with his potent single, \u201cI Hope You\u2019re Happy<\/a>,\u201d from his star-powered, country-rap album of the same name.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe followed it up with more hits from his third studio LP including \u201cPray Hard\u201d (feat. Luke Combs), \u201cAll the Way\u2019 (feat. Bailey Zimmerman), and the biting \u201cHell at Night,\u201d his track with country singer Ella Langley<\/a>. At one point, BigXthaPlug led a massive sing-a-long to Langley\u2019s chart-topping single \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d with thousands in the crowd roaring back the lyrics to the heartbreak hit.<\/p>\n

\n\tBigXthaPlug also brought in fan favorites and got the packed-crowd jumping with his pre-country era tracks, delivering \u201cLevels\u201d and steel guitar-heavy \u201cTexas\u201d from his debut album Amar \u2014 donning a glittering Dallas, Texas, chain for the occasion.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile there weren\u2019t any guests for the artist\u2019s Stagecoach set, the solo performance showcased why BigXthaPlug has dominated the country charts as he effortlessly moved from hip-hop to country-rap at the desert festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tBigX, whose first two albums Amar (named after his son) and Take Care leaned hip-hop and cinematic rap, made his country debut last spring with his phenomenal record I Hope You\u2019re Happy. The album\u2019s lead single, \u201cAll the Way,\u201d with Zimmerman, achieved a feat on the charts and became the first song ever to top both\u00a0Billboard\u2019s Hot Country Songs\u00a0and\u00a0Hot Rap Songs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAs I Hope You\u2019re Happy\u00a0introduced BigX to a new fan base, it also garnered several industry recognitions including\u00a0Billboard\u2019s Country Power Players Innovator, a Ryman Auditorium performance in Nashville, and closing out the CMA Awards alongside Luke Combs, performing their song \u201cPray Hard.\u201d At last year\u2019s Stagecoach, Jelly Roll brought out BigX as a surprise guest, marking one of the standout performances of the night.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen speaking to Rolling Stone<\/a> for its\u00a0Future of Music special<\/a> last month, BigX laid out his intention to be the best artist in the world and how that required him to take risks while exploring new genres. \u201cYou can\u2019t be one of the best artists in the world and have only done one genre,\u201d he said. \u201cBeyonc\u00e9, a GOAT, a queen. She\u2019s done pop, country. Lil Wayne: rock, pop. Snoop Dogg did songs with Katy Perry and shit. All these people are greats, from Eminem to Dr. Dre to Ice Cube.
