The San Antonio Fire Department said it wasn\u2019t involved the vehicle\u2019s recovery, and the San Antonio Police Department hasn\u2019t provided details of the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a result of the flooding in San Antonio, we temporarily paused our local operations and are continuing to monitor road conditions,\u201d a company spokesman said Tuesday. He added that service will continue \u201cwhen it\u2019s safe to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Monday\u2019s\u00a0incident comes about two weeks after an unoccupied Waymo got stuck in high waters near McCollough Avenue and Contour Drive, <a href=\"https:\/\/news4sanantonio.com\/news\/local\/photos-waymo-self-driving-car-caught-in-high-water-area-amid-heavy-rain\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to News4SA<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MM_onlineOnly\" title=\"CCI Online Only\">WAYMO NEWS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/article\/waymo-robotaxis-san-antonio-airport-service-22162083.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Antonio airport first in Texas to get Waymo robotaxi service<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The company operates its vehicles in 11 cities around the country, including Austin, Dallas and Houston.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>In Phoenix,\u00a0Waymos with passengers have gotten stuck in floodwaters, including during a storm in September, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.12news.com\/article\/news\/local\/valley\/waymo-autonomous-vehicles-back-on-the-road-after-many-became-stuck-in-arizona-floodwaters\/75-271a5fac-596b-43c6-9473-0a6f7427a0a0\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to local outlets<\/a>. Nobody was hurt in the incidents and the cars were towed to safety. But the company paused service in the market for several days, as it has in San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>The Google\u00a0spinoff began limited service in San Antonio in February with dozens of its white Jaguar I-Paces covering a 60-square-mile service area that is roughly bounded by Interstate 10 on the south and west and Loop 410 to the north and east.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, San Antonio International Airport became the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/article\/waymo-robotaxis-san-antonio-airport-service-22162083.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first in the state<\/a> to get the service.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company has said that over 170 million rider-only miles, its automated\u00a0Waymo Driver system is safer than human drivers and involved in significantly fewer accidents involving injuries, fatalities and airbag deployments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Still,\u00a0there have been glitches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MM_onlineOnly\" title=\"CCI Online Only\">READ NEXT: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/article\/waymo-robotaxis-san-antonio-neighborhoods-parked-21360403.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Waymo robotaxis spotted using neighborhoods as pit stops<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, a\u00a0Waymo with a human driver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/news\/article\/waymo-driver-pedestrian-crash-northeast-side-22197650.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hit a pedestrian<\/a>, causing non-life-threatening injuries. There also have been complaints about the vehicles driving the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/news\/article\/waymo-wrong-way-school-zone-alamo-heights-22185313.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wrong way in a school zone<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/article\/waymo-traffic-light-stuck-san-antonio-school-bus-21299409.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stalling in traffic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/article\/waymo-robotaxis-san-antonio-neighborhoods-parked-21360403.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">loitering in neighborhoods<\/a> while between jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Austin, a\u00a0Waymo car was caught on camera <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/technology\/article\/waymo-blocks-ambulance-bufords-austin-shooting-21950316.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">blocking EMS vehicles<\/a> responding to the March 1 mass shooting on West Sixth Street. Authorities said the robotaxi did not hinder the response to the shooting, which killed four and injured more than a dozen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"uiTextSmall f aic jcc\">Article continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>The company is under scrutiny from the <a href=\"https:\/\/static.nhtsa.gov\/odi\/inv\/2025\/INIM-PE25013-30896.pdf\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Highway Traffic Safety Administration<\/a> after\u00a0Waymos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/business\/technology\/article\/austin-isd-waymo-new-school-bus-violations-21295527.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">drove past stopped school buses in Austin<\/a> and struck a child near a school in California.
