{"id":265983,"date":"2026-04-25T15:23:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T15:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/265983\/"},"modified":"2026-04-25T15:23:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T15:23:25","slug":"the-magnolia-wine-bar-to-close-and-more-top-fort-worth-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/265983\/","title":{"rendered":"The Magnolia wine bar to close and more top Fort Worth news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is showing its strong entrepreneurial spirit after Fort Worth and five of its neighbors appeared on WalletHub&#8217;s new list of the best large U.S. cities for starting a business in 2026. <\/p>\n<p>The annual <a href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/edu\/best-cities-to-start-a-business\/2281\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">report<\/a> compared 100 U.S. cities based on 19 relevant metrics across three key dimensions: business environment, access to resources, and costs. Factors that were analyzed include five-year business survival rates, job growth comparisons from 2020 and 2024, population growth of working-age individuals aged 16-64, office space affordability, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Florida cities locked out the top five best places in America for starting a new business: Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Hialeah, and St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth ranked 30th overall on the list, only seven spots behind No. 23-ranking Arlington. <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/wallethub-best-business-fort-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Last year<\/a>, Fort Worth ranked 11th and Arlington was 15th.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth has the eighth-best &#8220;access to resources&#8221; in the country, and it has the 47th best &#8220;business environment.&#8221; The city did fall behind in the &#8220;business costs&#8221; category, ranking 67th out of all 100 U.S. cities.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how Arlington compared across the three key dimensions:<\/p>\n<p>No. 24 \u2013 Business environmentNo. 41 \u2013 Access to resourcesNo. 59 \u2013 Business costs<\/p>\n<p>Dallas led the charge in North Texas as the No. 11 best large U.S. city for starting a business. Irving ranked No. 16 nationally, followed by Plano, (No. 35) and Garland (No. 65).<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, WalletHub <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/texas-best-for-business-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">declared<\/a> Texas the third-best state for starting a business in 2026, and several DFW cities have seen robust growth after being recognized among the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworth.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/career-hotspots-mansfield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">best career hotspots<\/a> in the U.S. <\/p>\n<p>Only seven other Texas cities earned spots in the report: Austin (No. 24), Houston (No. 26), Lubbock (No. 36), Corpus Christi (No. 39), San Antonio (No. 64), El Paso (No. 67), and Laredo (No. 76).<\/p>\n<p>Austin tied with Boise, Idaho and Fresno, California for the highest average growth in the number of small businesses nationally, while Corpus Christi and Laredo topped a separate list of the U.S. cities with the most accessible financing.
