The woman suffered multiple bites to the left side of her body and significant blood loss. <\/p>\n<p>Witnesses told deputies the woman was being dragged during the attack. <\/p>\n<p>She was transported to University Hospital, where she has since stabilized.<\/p>\n<p>The dog\u2019s owner left the scene with the animal before deputies arrived. Animal control officers later located both the dog and its owner. <\/p>\n<p>The owner initially told the caller she had returned home and shot the dog, but investigators determined that claim was not true.<\/p>\n<p>The owner was issued three citations, including dogs running free of restraint, failure to vaccinate for rabies, and a dangerous dog attack causing bodily injury.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>Bexar County Animal Care Services took custody of the dog, which will undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SAN ANTONIO &#8211; A woman is recovering after being seriously injured in a dog attack Friday morning.
