BEXAR COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A woman was arrested in connection to an illegal gambling bust just last month in which deputies uncovered dozens of gambling machines and arrested multiple workers. <\/p>\n

Carrie Vera Gutierrez, 48, faces charges of keeping a gambling place, gambling promotion, possession of gambling equipment, and engaging in organized criminal activity, according to an arrest affidavit.<\/p>\n

According to the affidavit, on March 31, the Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office Organized Crime Division executed a search warrant at a business known as \u201cBlessed Sweepstakes\u201d in the 400 block of West Hildebrand Avenue.<\/p>\n

Our cameras captured exclusive video days before deputies shut it down. During the search, deputies seized approximately 50 video slot machines, $5,445 in cash, and other gambling equipment and paraphernalia, court records show.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the business paid out winnings in cash at amounts exceeding the bets placed which they say is consistent with illegal gambling operations.<\/p>\n

Gutierrez was identified as the owner and operator of the business through multiple sources, including the confirmed workers who were arrested at the establishment during the search<\/a>. Anthony Vera, 51, Alissa Arenas, 23, and Kambry Ybarra, 27 were arrested and several others cited. <\/p>\n

The affidavit states Gutierrez was not present at the time of the search.
