Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) officially opened the long-awaited Silver Line at Knoll Trail Station, marking a milestone for both North Dallas commuters and the growing Knoll Trail Crossing development.<\/p>\n

A Transit-Oriented Hub For North Dallas<\/p>\n

Knoll Trail Station stands out as the only new DART Silver Line stop in Dallas with move-in-ready office space available. The opening cements Knoll Trail Crossing as a premier transit-oriented development (TOD), offering modern office environments, upscale amenities and now, direct light rail service to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in just 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to continue our partnership with DART since tenants, whether office or residential, have the greatest propensity to ride transit when they\u2019re adjacent to the light rail amenity,\u201d said Jud Pankey, CEO of Prescott Group, in an official statement. \u201cThe DART Silver Line investment makes a huge difference for our neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Connecting Seven Cities Across North Texas<\/p>\n

Stretching 26 miles, the Silver Line<\/a> links Plano<\/a>, Richardson, Addison, Carrollton, Dallas, Coppell and Grapevine with 10 new stations. The route strengthens access to jobs, schools and businesses across the region while supporting the economic growth that continues to define North Texas.<\/p>\n

Silver Line\u2019s direct access to DFW Airport makes Knoll Trail Crossing particularly appealing to companies with regional or national operations, and the project has already generated strong leasing momentum in the area.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re seeing tremendous activity and leasing potential in Dallas,\u201d said Chris Wright, executive vice president at Colliers. \u201cTransit-oriented developments like Knoll Trail Crossing are prime examples of increased leasing momentum as companies prioritize accessibility and employee convenience.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Economic Impact And Regional Growth<\/p>\n

Transit proximity has long boosted local real estate markets, and DART\u2019s Silver Line is expected to do the same. Residential and commercial properties near light rail lines typically generate stronger rents and attract higher-quality tenants.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe DART Silver Line is an example of how multiple partners from the private and public sectors can come together to work on a project that will improve the region,\u201d said Dee Leggett, DART chief development officer. \u201cDART is proud of this project and we\u2019re excited for the residents and business tenants in the North Dallas area to ride the Silver Line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Years In The Making<\/p>\n

The Silver Line project, a $2.1 billion investment, began construction in 2021 and was originally expected to open in 2023. Pandemic-related supply chain delays extended the timeline, but after years of anticipation, the line is now complete and fully operational.<\/p>\n

Service officially began Oct. 24, with free rides through Nov. 6. The following day, community celebrations took place at all 10 stations, each reflecting the unique identity of its city.<\/p>\n

For North Texas, the Silver Line\u2019s arrival represents more than just a new transit option, it\u2019s a sign of how strategic public investment continues to shape the region\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
