Colorado Springs police saw a homicide, a juvenile death in a crash and several fires last week, with law enforcement making a total of 306 arrests in El Paso County.<\/p>\n
From April 19 to April 25, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted 10 blotter entries to its database of arrests approved for public release.\u00a0Here is a recap of those entries:\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Sunday, April 19, police arrested Nic Alcorn after he allegedly met a partner at a club, took them home, then held them against their will, leaving them with injuries from a knife. The victim was able to escape to a nearby business to call the police. <\/p>\n
Also on April 19, paramedics responded to the 7400 block of North Academy Boulevard for a reported assault. Medics rushed the male victim to the hospital, where he died shortly after. CSPD\u2019s homicide unit assumed control of the investigation and no arrests have been announced.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, 21-year-old Cadence Malkin\u00a0allegedly started two fires in Palmer Park, which were contained after burning a quarter of an acre, in total. Police say Malkin \u201cimmediately admitted\u201d to starting the fires and was arrested on scene. The park was closed for several hours to monitor hot spots.<\/p>\n
Also on Wednesday, a juvenile died after a fatal crash at North Academy Boulevard and Lehman Drive. Police say the crash was caused after a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed failed to stop at a red light, striking a vehicle turning left at the intersection. All parties in both vehicles \u2014 two additional juveniles and an adult \u2014 were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, where they remain in stable condition.<\/p>\n

On April 19, officers responded to a call about a weapons display. \u201cNumerous subjects\u201d were detained, and some did not cooperate with police. Four handguns and one AR pistol\u00a0were recovered, and four men were arrested and charged with weapons-related offenses.<\/p>\n
Also on April 19,\u00a0Adam Rusnic was arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance, in which he allegedly caused fear after displaying a firearm at his girlfriend and another person.<\/p>\n
Later on April 19, a six-vehicle crash near Powers Boulevard and Constitution Avenue left a motorcyclist hospitalized. Police say the crash was likely caused by lane splitting, inappropriate lane filtering and speed.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, police arrested a prolific motor vehicle thief, Trevor Gray, 24, after he allegedly tried to flee detectives in a stolen gray Nissan Titan.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, police responded to three brush fires in the area of Broadmoor Bluffs and Farthing Drive. No arrests were announced and the investigation into the fires is ongoing.<\/p>\n
On Friday, police and the Colorado Springs Fire Department were dispatched to a brush fire near Interstate 25 and Cimarron Street. The fire was quickly put out and no arrests were announced; the investigation is ongoing. <\/p>\n
