A shooting in front of a historic Central Texas barbecue joint<\/a> has reportedly left multiple people injured and a suspect still at large. The Austin Police Department is investigating the incident that took place in East Austin on Sunday, April 26,\u00a0KXAN reports<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the local Austin TV news station<\/a>, APD received multiple 911 calls about shots being fired just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday at the 2000 block of\u00a0East 12th Street in Austin. An APD public information officer reportedly told\u00a0KXAN the shooting happened in front of Sam’s BBQ in East Austin<\/a>.\u00a0MySA reached out to the Austin Police Department and Austin-Travis County EMS for comment, but did not hear back before publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and began treating victims, but the exact number of people injured remains unknown. Police told KXAN\u00a0that two people were taken to a local hospital.<\/p>\n

The suspect allegedly ran away, fleeing the scene in a vehicle, and authorities are trying to find them. Police also confirmed to CBS Austin<\/a> that this was not an active shooting situation and it was believed to be an isolated incident, meaning there is no threat to the public at this time.<\/p>\n
